Inserting an implant whithout incisions or sutures and having your fixed teeth in place before leaving the clinic is in many cases, entirely possible. Inserting implants without resorting to a bone graft in the event of significant bone defect, is entirely possible with basal implantology. The Clinica Cotten is the first clinic in Spain to introduce the specialty in Basal Implantology, with Dr. Cotten who has experience of over fifteen years in this field.Dr Cotten has the Master of Basal Implantogy from Nice Sofia Antipolis University
Implant dentistry permits the compensation of the loss of one or more teeth. The absence of lateral incisors to the right and the left has been resolved by an implant without touching the adjacent teeth.

It is natural bone stimulation, in other words, without the addition of any synthetic material.A small operation of a few minutes duration under local anaesthetic, which will permit the stimulation on a local level of the bone cells themselves in order to improve the implant insertion site. This small intervention can prevent the surgery of a sinus lift. 45 days after bone stimulation, your implant will be placed without opening the gum and without stitches after surgery.
Implants are artificial roots with which to replace the absence of teeth.
Fixed protheses are attached to the implant called crown or caps.Crowns are of resin, ceramic or zirconium depending on the type of transitional or end (photo after attachment of the protheses).
Implants can principaly be inserted in 2 ways, depending on the quality of the bone support: 1)axial implants,cylindrical-shaped conventional implants where there is sufficient bone; 2)basal implants where there is a lack of bone. Both types of implants can be seen in the panoramic x-ray photograph.
These two situations are different for implants.WHERE THERE IS BONE: crestal or axial implants are used. Axial implantology, conventional implant dentistry with cylindrical-shaped imlplants, is the type of implantology used in the majority of cases when bone conditions are favorable. There is a more reduced field of implantable anatomical sites in height, width or density of bone is missing.
WHEN THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT BONE DEFICIT? BASAL IMPLANTOLOGY provides an alternative to the bone graft (an alternative to removing bone from the chin, the cranium or the hips)an alternative to the sinus lift or displacement of the mandible nerve. It permits the insertion of implants in cases of significant bone deficit. It is indicated when grafting techniques have failed or when the bone deficit is very significant.
Basal implantology has over 25 years of experience. It was developped to provide an alternative solution for patients who want to avoid bone graft. Basal implantology is a solution for the cases with sišgnificant bone loss or severe atrophy. It permits the insertion of the implants in the rear molar position which are the areas most in use during mastication, areas in which bone defect is often significant.
To begin with, basal implantology is less invasive; it does not require the extraction of bone from another part of the body. It permits the attachment of teeth on top of the implants within a reduced period of time. The treatment plan for patients treated with basal implantology for a completely edentulate maxilla or jawbone is the following. After the pre-operative study of the case and the analyses, surgery is performed with the insertion of the implants and the taking of impressions at the end of the intervention. After 24-48 hours, the structure of the bridge is tested with verification of the aesthetics and the occlusion. 24 to 48 hours later, the transition bridge is inserted. Our patients thereby receive their fixed prosthesis on the implants between two to four days after surgery. It is a fixed transition prosthesis which will last various months. The final bridge with ceramic o zirconi can be completed after three to five months after surgery. In treatments with basal implantology bone is not removed from the cranium, the hip, the chin or any other location on your body. It does not require a sinus lift, or lateralisation of the mandibular nerve
Patients increasingly ask for implant treatments with basal implantology, because it is a renowned technique which avoids multiple interventions prior to implantation, particularly when bone conditions are unfavourable. This specialty is taught in several universities and is validated by a university degree. Its use requires many years of surgical and prosthetic training and experience, as well as the capability to work with great precision. Patients treated with basal implantology must be monitored by trained and validated experts in this technique or who are correspondents of experts in it, experts who have clinical, radiological, prosthetic and surgical expertise in basal implantology. In effect, experts without knowledge and training may expose patients to poor treatment choices if they do not communicate with a specialist in basal implantology.
