The Periodontitis

1 - PERIODONTITIS or pyorrhoea, a disease of the gums and bone

There are various symptoms and consequences of the presence of periodontal disease: dental sensitivity, bad breath, dental mobility, bleeding gums. The general effect in the absence of treatment is the gradual reduction of the gums and the bone, which in the long term leads to the teeth falling out and the atrophy of the jaw or upper maxilla. Other effects on health in general are associated with this disease.

2 - PERIODONTITIS AND DENTAL PLAQUE: identifying bacterial and parasitic flora.

It is a disease which has as its consequence the progressive reduction of the bone and the gums. This disease may have long term repercussions on health in general, at cardiovascular level, in diabetic patients and in pregnant women. Treatments can be with or without surgery depending on the current stage of the disease.

Microbiological diagnosis is made in the presence of the patient with the help of a phase contrast microscope. It defines the degree of severity of the disease through analysis of the bacteria and the parasites living on the dental plaque and colonising the space below the gums. The non-invasive and pain-free treatments have as their objective the removal of the visible plaque and the dental plaque that is under the gums and provides a support for the bacteria and the parasites. Periodontitis can be treated and cured in the majority of cases if it is treated in time and regularly monitored.

3 – MICROBIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS of periodontitis or pyorrhoea

Microbiological analysis enables us to immediately diagnose with a phase contrast microscope the bacteria and the parasites that live under the gums, in contact with the roots of the teeth and the bone. These germs that live below the gum maintain both the infection and the chronic inflammation, which leads to the progressive loss of bone. To follow, we can see amoeba (Entamoeba gingivalis) which move amongst the bacteria and the white and red blood cells.

5 Treatment of the Periodontitis

The microbiological treatment of periodontitis will tackle the germs the parasites and the bacterias living under your gums, as well as calculus and subgingival plaque. , it's a non-invasive treatment, without pain, without surgery, without opening the gums. Periodontal surgery is reserved for severe cases of periodontitis.
